After 181 trial days and one of the longest periods of deliberation by a jury in a criminal case in NSW, the Supreme Court at Parramatta was handed all guilty verdicts
Both New South Wales Police Force and the Australian Federal Police Commissioners acknowledge the outcome of the trial and understand that the jury had a long and difficult case to examine.
This prosecution was the result of a highly successful joint operation between New South Wales Police Force, the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation and the New South Wales Crime Commission and supported by other jurisdictions and agencies, in particular the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.
It has taken a great deal of hard work and commitment from a large number of people across many organisations to bring this case to court and is testament to the professionalism of the officers involved in what was Australia’s largest ever terrorist investigation and one of Australia’s largest criminal trials.
Australian law enforcement and intelligence agencies continue to work cooperatively in relation to counter terrorism investigations.
