Website design

The NSW Government is committed to providing individuals, businesses and other agencies with easy-to-find information about the NSW Government and the services it offers.

The secureNSW website has been designed in line with the NSW Government Website Style Directive. Compliance with this directive ensures consistent and user friendly website design across NSW Government websites and that they meet accessibility standards.

This website meets Priority 1 & 2 (also known as AA) requirements of the World Wide Web Consortium (WC3)’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0. However, most pages also meet Priority 3 (AAA) requirements.

Browsers

This website is best viewed in Microsoft Windows using:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) versions 5.5, 6.0 and 7.0
  • Mozilla Firefox 2.0

In most cases, other browsers and operating systems will be supported. Older browsers that do not support WC3 standards might have problems displaying pages correctly.

Screen resolution

The optimum screen resolution for this website is 1024x768.

This website uses relative font sizing, so you can set the text to the size at which you are comfortable reading. Just click the large ‘A’ in the right hand corner of the web page to increase the text size. Click on the small ‘a’ to reduce the text size.

Printer-friendly versions Icon used to represent that pages are printer friendly

At the top of each page there is a link to a ‘printer friendly version’ of the page. Printing this version of the page saves paper and ink as it uses the full length of the page and does not include website graphics.

PDF help

Some documents on this website are provided as PDF files (i.e. Portable Document Format). To access a PDF document, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader software installed. This is free software that can be downloaded from Adobe.

Wherever possible we have provided an HTML equivalent of content in PDF files. The Adobe website also provides a service to convert PDF files to HTML via an online form.

Flash help

Some pages include Flash video files. To view these videos, you need to have Flash Player installed on your computer. This is free software that can be downloaded from Adobe.
