Recovery
The restoration of normality is the key objective of the recovery phase. Significant planning and testing of recovery arrangements across all agencies has taken place in New South Wales (NSW), and will continue.
The community needs to be able to return to day-to-day business as soon as possible. To achieve this, basic utilities and functions need to be restored and normal operations resumed as a priority.
Recovery centres will be established to provide support to victims, and family and friends of people affected by the event. These centres will enable agencies to follow up those directly affected by the terrorist incident, to ensure they receive access to appropriate services.
In cases of recovery from widespread health issues, NSW Health is the lead agency.
